THE DRESS!!!!

Once again I have waited to long too post another update on this thing. I unfortunately seem to be a slacking blogger...
BUT
WE HAVE THE DRESS!!!!
I am super excited about ordering my dress. It is ridiculously romantic... covered in lace of course. Believe it or not it is actually described by the designer as a "modified mermaid" who would have thought I would EVER have a dress like that???? I'll definitely be working on the bod in the meantime ;)
I would post a picture but you know who might see it! There's a snippet of the lace for your viewing pleasure. It is a James Clifford dress if you feel like going on the hunt and guessing... Yes James Clifford is a coture designer so unfortunately I did spend well over my budget...but hey, you only get married once right? I opened an account with my companies credit union and have been saving all of my modeling money so I am excited to use it on something special.
A friend of mine Sarah invited me to model in a Bridal show this weekend. Our hair and makeup will be done suited for the bridal gown. I wonder if they have my dress???? Either way I am super excited and am hoping it will get me in the wedding mood. So much has been going on lately with my career and possible changes that I haven't been able to focus as much on the wedding as I would've liked... BUT let's change that ASAP!
WhoooHoooo for Marriage, can't wait to be Mrs. Wallace...

Wedding Hustle and Bustle

It has been quite a while since my last blog. Tons of stuff is going on with the wedding and Sean and I are so excited. I am almost certain I found my wedding dress. It's perfect. I would post pictures but you know who is not allowed to see it until the big day.

I have Sooooo many ideas in my head I don't know where to start. Obviously saving money for us is key. I found about 90 mason jars on Craigslist we will hopefully use on decor and we are waiting for Michaels to go down on there sales prices. I am hoping we wont miss all the good stuff!!!

I would LOVE to make the boutonniere's for Sean and his groomsman here's a picture of what I am thinking.

I know I can get most of the supplies at the store so it would be just a matter of taking the time to individualize each one!

Some of the many other ideas I love are incorporating, river rocks, sunflower seeds for bottom fillers under tea lights, pumpkins filled with mums, wheat grass, chalk boards....the list goes on and on.

I think in order to organize better Sean and I will just have to do some samples of our ideas and see which one suits us best.

My wonderful Uncle Glenn (Iam not holding the fact he's a steeler's fan against him) is helping us out with invitations since he works for a printing company! How cool?!?!?!

AND my Dad's school where he works has an award winning Culinary program for high scool students. Sean and I met with the teacher and she has agreed to cater the wedding! She has wonderful ideas that really incorporate the fall harvest....not to mention it all sounds delish : ) Butternut squash soup, pear and sugar roasted pecan salad, caramel apples and fall pies..mmmm mmm

AND since the Sciene Musuem of VA (where the reception will be) is all about education they are only charging us 1/2 the price to use an "outside caterer."

Everything seems to be going beatifully, my only concern right now is our wedding parties. Of course we both have tons of family who can take part but how do we choose? We love everyone! and unfortunately I don't have a ton of g/f's I have a bunch of close guy friends but...who made that rule anyway? the no guys on the girls side of the bridal party...they obviously didn't know any female engineers, humph... :/ We prob will go with fam or ppl we have mutually known for a while.

That is amongst minor details, I am having a blast thinking about ideas and can't wait to start the creative productions! Shopping at Michaels sounds so good right now : )

A very needed little push...

My life is now in boxes scattered through the house. No pictures, no knick knacks, no mirrors, just walls. Although the colors are inspiring I never realized what it takes to make a house your own.

Time is all we need and time is what there is never enough of.

Of course we aren't going anywhere anytime soon so I suppose I need to sit back and enjoy the ride. Hopefully the porch swing will be up this weekend, facing the west of course.

DIY blackboard door as well, its in our kitchen leading to the basement. I'll post some pics/

Alexanders Auction tonight to try and find an antique dining set.

I love the old farm house tables but it will take quite a while to find one of those. For now a french or victorian set will do. Anything with character. Post pics later

MOVING - The excitement of our first house!

This weekend we are having our first REAL yardsale. Not at the parents house and only selling items that are ours...things we've bought, shared, and relished in together.

As I was taking down our wall collage of photos strung on hemp and held by clothes clips I couldn't help but to have mixed emotions.

Sean and I have now lived in 3 different apartments together and the idea of living in OUR new house is.... ..... .... a loss of words.... ummmm, excited, nervous, happy, work, fights, love, movies, showers, paint, bubba, candles. Just EVERYTHING is flying through my mind and I am more excited every day. Hopefully our apartment will be empty this Sunday and we will be living in the new house next week.

Oh my goodness....

Just saying that makes me freak out!!! How coool?!?!?!?!

Granted we don't have a lick of furniture besides a bed, I think we'll be just fine.

Bubba and Sean for love, windows for air, and candles for light, can't get much better then that.

Thrifting

I am having this Amazinig urge to go thrifting. Probably b/c of the new house. Isn't this the coolest "Nightstand" Ever?!? I'd love to find some old suitcases and do this for our bedroom.

Need to go on the hunt. I am so excited to start decorating and make the house a home. I love the all white looks with the vintage soft pastels and antiques. Too bad Bubba's hair get's EVERYWHERE. My OCD will have to just come out if we do the white.

Ikea trip soon as well...

Birthdays

So I will be 23 on Wednesday.

Wierd, Birthday's are wierd every year I have a different feeling about them. I guess as you get older Birthdays are kinda like a reality check. I remember when I use to think anything over 21 was old.

Well on the way through life now. Everything seems to be speeding up. Engagement to the love of my life, buying our first home, watching our baby (Dog: Bubba) Grow older...siiggghh.... seems to be only flying by faster everyday ...the day I turn a quarter of a century will be here before we know it.

Mom is actually throwing me a birthday party, a "painting" party to help make sure we can move in soon. Ha, who'd ever thought?
